Tottenham Hotspur January signing Dele Alli has received high praise from MK Dons coach Paul Heald on

Heald believes that the 18-year-old central midfielder has the potential to go on to play for England and has backed him to progress even further when he does move to White Hart Lane.

Alli was signed by Tottenham in January, but immediately loaned back to MK, so it will be up to him to impress when he does start training with the North London club ahead of next season.

Heald certainly thinks he has the ability to do that and has backed the England youth international to improve when playing with a higher quality of player.

"The future is looking good for English football with more and more players starting to come through," he said.

"One of them is our own Dele Alli who will be benefiting from playing alongside world class players and taking advice from world class managers next season.

"When you are playing day in and day out with them players and pushing to get in the first team each weekend you will step up to that stage. It won't be long until he progresses through the England ranks and that will be great for us to see as coaches and fans."

There are high hopes for Alli's future at White Hart Lane and he seems to have the potential to be the next youngster to break through into their starting line-up.

Mauricio Pochettino has already shown his faith in youth by selecting Ryan Mason, Nabil Bentaleb and Harry Kane on regular occasions this season and the hope is that Alli can follow in their footsteps.

It is no surprise to see that he is so highly rated by the MK Dons' coaching staff, as he has had a massive impact in League One this term, scoring 14 goals in 36 matches.
