Cech is currently number two at Stamford Bridge having lost his place to Belgium star Thibaut Courtois, who returned from three years on loan at Atletico Madrid last summer.
Courtois has impressed in his first season in the Premier League, meaning that Cech has been left with limited game time, sparking suggestions that he will be on the move at the end of the campaign.
Now, former Blues number one Cudicini has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show that Arsenal should try and sign Cech if he becomes available.
“If a goalkeeper like Petr Cech is available in the summer, obviously he should be a big target for Arsenal,” said Cudicini.
“Arsenal have had a few problems with goalkeepers after [David] Seaman and [Jens] Lehmann. [Wojciech] Szczesny is still struggling to impose himself as number one.”
Whether a deal could be agreed between the two clubs, however, remains a mystery. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho would likely be unwilling to lose his long-serving keeper, especially given the club’s lack of back-up elsewhere.
He would also likely be reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival, especially Arsenal and Arsene Wenger. The Gunners would also likely face competition from a number of clubs should Cech become available, such is his standing in the game.
