Ian Wright has called for his former boss to sign the England star amidst his contract confusion.
Liverpool are keen to sign the player to an extended deal as soon as possible and negotiations between the club and his representatives have been ongoing for months.
Manager Brendan Rodgers recently revealed that talks would have to wait until the summer, according to the BBC, and that has led to Sterling being linked with a number of Europe’s top clubs as the reported stalemate over a new contract at Anfield continues to develop.
Now, former Arsenal forward Wright has called upon manager Wenger to take advantage of the situation and sign Sterling for his old club.
'Come on Arsene! Go in and get "Raheem the dream Sterling" from Liverpool and play him where he wants!' Wright tweeted.
Sterling has been in fine form for his club this season, returning to the side after a mid-season break to help them surge up the table and fight for the remaining Champions League places.
He has also impressed on the international stage, starring in England’s recent win over Lithuania, scoring one and setting up Harry Kane for another in the 4-0 win at Wembley.
Those types of performances are likely to have caught they eye of many managers, although whether Liverpool would be keen on a sale to a Premier League rival is another matter entirely.
