Crystal Palace are reported to have identified Celtic's Efe Ambrose as a potential transfer target.
Crystal Palace are hoping to sign Celtic defender Efe Ambrose in the summer transfer window, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Ambrose is said to have been watched closely by Palace's scouts and they believe that he could improve their backline for next season, with Alan Pardew keen to bring him to Selhurst Park.
Celtic are believed to be looking for around £3 million for the defender, who is keen on starting a fresh challenge, and Palace may be willing to meet their asking price.
What would the impact of Celtic losing Ambrose be?
Ambrose has had to play second-fiddle at Celtic for much of the season so far, but it could be a disappointment if they did lose the Nigerian.
Although Ambrose is not the most comfortable in possession, he is a proven performer for the Bhoys and could have a key role to play next term.
Celtic have based much of their success this season around Virgil van Dijk and Jason Denayer's partnership in the heart of their defence, but the pair are both set to leave Parkhead this summer.
Celtic are said to be resigned to losing Van Dijk in the Mail, while Denayer is set to return to Manchester City after completing his loan spell.
It means that Ambrose may have a more prominent role to play at Parkhead next season, although a move to Palace is also a possibility.
If Ambrose does leave then Ronny Deila will need to have a complete overhaul of his defence, with centre-backs likely to be his main priority in the summer transfer window.
