Celtic are expecting to lose Virgil Van Dijk at the end of the season, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Van Dijk has been tracked by a number of English clubs and it seems that his head has been turned by the interest.
Sunderland and Southampton are both reportedly keen on signing the Dutchman and will test Celtic's resolve with offers in the summer.
Van Dijk is a key player for Ronny Deila's side, but the Bhoys are believed to be resigned to losing him as they feel the player wants to move on.
As a result, Celtic seem to already be making plans without him and they have been linked with Hearts defender Danny Wilson by the Daily Mail in recent times.
If Celtic do decide to sell Van Dijk they will be looking to raise some considerable funds, and he is unlikely to leave the club on the cheap.
Whether Sunderland or Southampton do have the money to meet the Bhoys' asking price remains to be seen, but it seems that Celtic may be close to giving up hope of keeping their star man beyond the end of this season.
