Photos: Celtic players including Charlie Mulgrew train ahead of St Mirren clash

Celtic Stands

Celtic's players were put through their paces in preparation for a return to domestic action.

Celtic’s players took part in their first training session since the international break on Wednesday, with pictures later posted by the club’s official Twitter account.

Ronny Deila’s side are back in action on Friday against St Mirren, as the Bhoys look to extend their five-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Those Celtic players not involved in international football over the last week will have been grateful for the rest, with Deila’s men playing every few days in their bid for an historic treble.

The Scottish League Cup is safely secured following their recent win over Dundee United, but now they turn their attention to their league campaign.

Celtic could wrap the title up sooner rather than later, especially when you consider they have a game in hand over second-placed Aberdeen. But they will not be complacent, all too aware that footballing fortunes can turn in an instant.

Among those in action was defender Charlie Mulgrew, who has been out injured with a thigh muscle injury since December.
