Manchester City media round-up: Dzeko and Kompany in hot water after international fixtures

A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester City.

The Daily Mail has reported that Edin Dzeko was in trouble with officials during Bosnia’s game against Austria last night.

The striker grabbed an Austrian player by the throat as he leapt to the defence of a teammate following a poor challenge during the 1-1 draw.

He was only booked, which suggests he won’t be punished further as the referee witnessed the incident.

Sky Sports has reported that the club’s captain Vincent Kompany was less fortunate as he was sent off during Belgium’s 1-0 win against Israel.

He picked up two bookings over the course of the match, which left the referee with no choice but to show him a red.

Belgium’s only goal of the game was scored by Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Manchester City are looking at two possible transfers in the form of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.

The Belgium midfielder and the England attacker are thought to be key targets for the club as they mull over pursuits for the coming summer.

The paper claims that the club will make moves for both players when the transfer window opens.
