Earlier this week, Liverpool teenager Ryan Kent announced on Twitter that he had signed a contract extension at Anfield.
It was great news not only for the player but also for the club, with the 18-year-old one of the most talented youngsters in their academy.
Kent can play on either wing or as a secondary striker and he has been making waves at various youth levels for quite some time.
This season he has two goals and provided two assists for Liverpool’s under-21s and he has one goal and two assists in six UEFA Youth League matches.
Able to both score and create, the teenager looks set for a bright future in the game, and having seen the likes of Jordon Ibe and Raheem Sterling break through at Anfield there is every chance he could one day follow them.
For now he will be continuing his development at academy level but Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers may well give him a taste of first-team action as early as next season.
