Tottenham media round-up, Townsend wants assurances, interest from elsewhere

A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Tottenham Hotspur this Wednesday evening.

Tottenham winger Andros Townsend is attracting interest from Serie A according to a report in the Daily Telegraph, as well as interest from the Premier League.

Townsend reportedly wants to be clear on his role within the side going forward as he wants to be playing regular first team football in the build-up to Euro 2016 in France next summer, after impressing in the 1-1 draw against Italy in Turin by getting on the scoresheet.

The report also says that Jay Rodriguez 'is expected to sign from Southampton' in the summer despite not playing for a year because of a serious knee injury, while there are doubts over the future of Erik Lamela.

The London Evening Standard has reported that Harry Kane will beat Diego Costa to the Premier League's golden boot, according to a study.

The pair are currently on 19 Premier League goals each this season but the developers of videogame football manager have projected he will beat the Chelsea striker to the award.

However, it's not all good news for Spurs as they predict the side to finish outside the top four in seventh place - even lower than last season.

Christian Eriksen, however, seems determined to prove that wrong and have a strong finish to the season both on a personal and club level.

He tells the club's website: “Really I just want to help the team and, as we’ve always said, it doesn’t matter who scores the goals – as long as the ball ends up in the net, we’re happy!”
