Eight Liverpool players' contracts expiring, Glen Johnson should go, Kolo Toure should stay

Glen Johnson

The likes of Brad Jones, Jon Flanagan and Steven Gerrard are also out of contract in the summer.

The season is coming to an end and with the international break clubs have plenty of opportunity at this moment in time to consider who will remain at the club and who will not.

That includes those whose contracts are coming to an end.

Eight players at Liverpool become free agents in the summer, so who should stay and who should go?

Steven Gerrard - GOING

The Liverpool captain is on his way to LA Galaxy, this we already know. Will he return one day, perhaps as a loanee? That we don't.

Glen Johnson - GO

The England international has not shown good form in recent months and it would appear his time at Anfield is coming to an end.

Kolo Toure - STAY

A tough one. While he is easy to dismiss the Ivorian has provided excellent cover at times this season. Keep hold of him.

Jon Flanagan - STAY

The talented full-back has had a horrible season through injury. But Liverpool should give him a new deal, wven if it is just a one year extension, should he prove he is back to full tilt.

Brad Jones - STAY

There is some conflict as to whether his contract runs out this summer or next, but either way he should stay until 2016 at least. He is a top drawer number two, who is not worried about waiting for his chances.

Brad Smith - GO

Not going to cut it at Liverpool. Let him walk.

Jordan Lussey - GO

He might change opinion with his loan spell at Bolton but the likelihood is he will also be departing.

Kevin Stewart - GO

Released by Tottenham last summer, former Spurs coach Alex Inglethorpe took him to Melwood. Now, he looks set to be released for the second summer in a row.
