Bus arrived at Hillsborough in the January transfer window, at the same point when Lavery was sent out on loan to Chesterfield, and it means that the two have not had the chance to play together yet.
However, now Lavery is back at Hillsborough they should see each other in action soon and the 22-year-old has heard good things about the Romanian's ability.
"I’ve not had a chance to really work with Sergiu Bus but from what the lads have said he’s a good player," he said.
Bus is currently injured and when he does return he will only increase the competition for places at Wednesday.
The Owls already have a number of options up front and Lavery admits that his teammates have performed well this season.
“Stevie May has been great all season, Will Keane came in and did really well for us and you know what you’re getting with Atdhe Nuhiu because he works so hard," Lavery said.
Despite Lavery's kind words for his teammates, he will still feel optimistic about his chances for the future, as since returning from his loan spell he has been part of Gray's team.
The academy graduate has played in both of Wednesday's last two fixtures and he will be hoping to hold down a place in the starting line-up for the rest of the season.
