Predicting Sunderland’s next three games

We look ahead to Sunderland’s Premier League matches against Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Stoke City.

Sunderland v Newcastle United

Newcastle United will head into the Tyne-Wear derby on a run of poor form, having lost all three of their Premier League games in March.

Given that this is a derby, anything is possible, but Sunderland will fancy their chances of picking up all three points at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats are fighting for survival in the English top flight, but they will be prepared for the clash under new manager Dick Advocaat.

Prediction: 2-0

Sunderland v Crystal Palace

The outcome of this match could depend on the result of the Tyne-Wear derby, but Sunderland should still feel confident of claiming the three points.

Palace are virtually safe from relegation from the Premier League, and that should allow the Black Cats some room to breathe.

Prediction: 2-1

Stoke City v Sunderland

Stoke City at home will be tough to beat, and the best that Sunderland can hope for is a draw.

Prediction: 2-0
