Lee Clark has told the Blackpool Gazette that Andrea Orlandi is among the players he definitely wants to keep at Bloomfield Road next season as he contemplates the squad rebuilding job he has ahead of their inevitable League One campaign next term.
Blackpool have only five players who are definitely contracted to the club next season although they have already offered new deals to a trio of young players – Bright Samuel, Dom Telford and Mark Waddington.
Clark told the Blackpool Gazette of Orlandi: “His form has been excellent since he gained a regular starting place and he’s the type of player we’d like to see here again next season.”
The former Brighton man has made 22 league appearances, scoring twice for the Seasiders in their torturous campaign.
Gary Madine has also spoken of his desire to convert his loan from Sheffield Wednesday into a long term move having scored three times in his nine appearances for Blackpool.
Madine scored in Blackpool's last fixture before in the international break against Leeds in a 1-1 draw which halted a run of six defeats on the spin.
Whoever Clark decides to keep on he will be anxious to pull together a squad before the start of pre-season training next season to avoid the farcical situation of last summer when the Tangerines had just six players contracted to the club at that point.
