A round up of news stories this morning related to Arsenal.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Arsenal have been left sweating over the fitness of striker Danny Welbeck.

Welbeck picked up a knee problem during England’s game against Lithuania last week and is touch and go to be fit for this weekend.

It would be a bitter pill for Arsenal to swallow ahead of the game, as they look to defend their place in the top four.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Arsenal star Theo Walcott will partner Harry Kane in attack for England’s game against Italy this evening.

Walcott should be fresh as he’s been used sparingly by Arsene Wenger in recent weeks, with the Frenchman preferring other players in midfield and attack.

However, it’s a real chance for Walcott to send out a message to his club boss with a positive performance.

ESPN has reported that Arsenal could be handed a boost in the form of Daniel Sturridge this weekend.

They claim that the Liverpool forward is in a race against time to be fit for the game after missing out on England duty with a thigh problem.

Arsenal’s job in terms of securing three points this weekend could be made simpler if Sturridge is unavailable for their opponents.
