The Hammers' form has dipped since the turn of the year, but Amalfitano is determined to get the Boleyn Ground feeling positive again by picking up some wins.
West Ham have a run of fixtures against sides in the bottom-half of the table, starting with their game this weekend against Leicester City, and Amalfitano wants his team to prove their class.
“We have a big chance to end the season strongly," he said. "We have a lot of games against the teams below us, but that’s not going to be easy. You have to be focused and we will be against Leicester.”
If West Ham can beat Leicester, as they will be expected to do, then they will set themselves up nicely for the rest of the season.
The Hammers have games against the likes of Queens Park Rangers, Burnley, Aston Villa and Newcastle United still to come and will fancy themselves to collect a healthy point haul from those fixtures.
If they can, it should create some momentum ahead of the 2015/16 campaign, which will be a big one for the Hammers.
West Ham have proved this season that they can be a match for some of the best teams in the Premier League, and they have a number of quality players in their team, but they will be looking to find greater consistency, to enable them to mount a more sustained European challenge next term.
