Raul Albentosa has told Derby County's official site that two players in the current squad have helped him most with the settling process at the iPro Stadium.
Albentosa arrived at Derby from Eibar in January and he has gone on to make a good impression at the Championship club, but he doesn't feel he would have been able to perform so well without Richard Keogh or Omar Mascarell.
Keogh has been a constant guide during Albentosa's time on the field so far, whilst Spanish compatriot Mascarell has helped him communicate.
“Richard Keogh speaks to me the most, not just because we play alongside each other, but because he has a lot to offer, a lot of experience and he is passing that on to me and guiding me if you like," he said.
“Omar, before he got injured, was also very important. He helped with the communication on the pitch and bridged that issue in defence.”
Albentosa has made an encouraging start in England, but he will realise the need to up his game for the remainder of the matches Derby have this season.
The Rams are currently enduring their poorest run of the campaign and it has come at the wrong time, as they have slipped down the table at an alarming rate.
Derby have gone from league leaders to a side that are now fighting just to keep their play-off spot and they need to ensure that this slump ends as soon as club football resumes again on Good Friday.
Steve McClaren's side have a match against Watford next up in their schedule and Albentosa will be hoping to help his side to a clean-sheet to ensure that they do not lose against their promotion rivals.
