Manchester United's Spanish midfielder has made 27 appearances this season, scoring 8 goals.
Fresh from his impressive double against Liverpool in the last Premier League fixtures, Manchester United star Juan Mata has been disclosing some of the more impressive perceptions he has of his fellow professionals.
Speaking to the Manchester United website, the former Chelsea and Valencia man was asked a series of questions relating to the best players he has played with and against during his career, with some surprising results.
Firstly, Mata chose an unexpected player as not just the fastest man he's ever played with, but also the fittest - a deadly combination if ever there was one.
When asked who was the fittest player he'd played with, Mata again plumped for the ex Wigan man, saying: "I’d say Valencia again! He’s very fit and strong."
Valencia has put that fitness to good use this season in his 27 appearances for Louis van Gaal's side, often featuring from right fullback or wingback where he has the energy to bomb forward and get back when his side are defending.
Interestingly, when asked who was the quickest opponent he'd ever faced, Mata went for Spanish teammate Jordi Alba, while he described United legend Cristiano Ronaldo as the fittest individual he's ever come up against.
