The former Manchester United captain seems impressed with Herrera's form.
Herrera has made a total of 23 appearances for the club this season, scoring five goals. His passing range and techincal ability has been there for all to see so far this season.
Robson told the official Manchester United website: "Ander started off the season well and he’s got a lot of energy. He is always on the move, trying to close people down really quickly. He has got a lot of qualities really, it’s just getting them out of him on a consistent basis. But he has got that in his locker, maybe it’s just taken him and a few of the new signings time to adapt to the Premier League.
"He is quite good defensively and, when I watch him, I can see he has a lot of energy and he does like to get involved. What I like about him is that, when people are on the ball, he is always on the move to try and receive the pass."
Herrera seems to have cemented his place in the starting XI after very impressive performances at the heart of the team against Tottenham and Liverpool in recent weeks.
He seemed to have struggled in the early stages of his time at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal but he seems to have adapted and flourished with more game time. Even when he struggled we saw moments of quality from the Spaniard, including a terrific strike in the FA Cup against Yeovil.
The 25-year-old is evidently a good talent for the club to have and is probably a couple of years off his best. United are likely to see the best of Herrera next season, but it's no surprise they engaged in long pursuit for the players. He seems to be paying back that £29 million transfer fee now.
