Denayer has been impressed by the potency of the team’s attacking play in the first half of recent matches against Dundee United and has suggested it would be good if the team could show something similar in every single match.
“The manager speaks every time before the game and gives good instructions so we are ready to play in every game. Everyone saw that in the four matches (against Dundee United),” said Denayer.
“If you can get to 3-0 in the first half in every game then that’d be great. It gives you confidence and it’s difficult for the other teams to deal with.”
Manager Ronny Deila will be pleased with the way his team has attacked in recent games but as far as he is concerned, he’s unlikely to care whether a win comes 1-0 or 4-0.
A fast start is important for any team because it puts the opposition onto the back foot and makes it difficult for them to fight their way into a game.
Where Celtic need to be careful is in developing a tendency to over attack in big games.
There is always going to be a natural tendency for the Bhoys to get onto the front foot because that’s where their quality lays, but they have to be careful not to leave themselves over exposed at the back of the team.
If the manager and the team get the balance right, there’s no reason the side can’t stroll to the treble.
