Aleksandr Mitrovic is reported to be holding talks with Benfica.
Highly rated striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has held talks with Benfica over a move, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
The Anderlecht striker was in Portugal at the weekend to take on the nation with Serbia for a European qualifier.
While he was there however his agent has revealed himself and Mitrovic's father held talks with officials over a potential Benfica switch.
Nenad Jestrovic said: "Alexander has many clubs interested, but right now there is nothing concrete. I will be in Lisbon with the father of Alexander to calmly discuss things. He deserves to transfer to a major championship. But it is not set aside the chance to keep in Anderlecht another year, especially in case of qualification for the Champions League."
Mitrovic, formerly of Partizan Belgrade, made Arsenal sit up and take notice earlier this season when he scored a headed equaliser to make it 3-3 in a Champions League clash at The Emirates.
This season he has scored a total of 20 goals in 38 games, and is still just 20-years-old. At the weekend he earned his seventh international cap, but was unable to help Serbia avoid a 2-1 loss to Portugal.
Benfica may be a good choice for the striker, a club where he could play regularly, while at Arsenal he risks a struggle to get into the team ahead of Olivier Giroud, if the move is too soon for him.
