Carl Jenkinson produced a magnificent performance to help England's under-21 side beat Germany's youngsters.
The defender held his place in the side ahead of Calum Chambers, signed by Arsenal in the summer, and showed exactly why the Gunners may be rash in getting rid of him.
Jenkinson is currently on loan with West Ham from Arsenal for the season, and his future remains uncertain.
Against Germany he set up two goals in a 3-2 victory, with Jesse Lingard, Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse the scorers. Arsenal youngster Serge Gnabry was in action for the opposition.
His performance earned praise from Phil Neville, who told BT Sport he was his man of the match and likened his attacking performance to that of a right winger. Jenkinson would express his delight at the win via Twitter:
The Star reported this week Arsenal are considering giving the green light for Jenkinson to sign if their valuation is met.
Currently he would have to fight competition from Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers and Hector Bellerin to claim a place at right-back.
Jenkinson is an Arsenal fan and has made steady progress at the club since signing. He joined West Ham to get regular football under his belt, but it is likely the Hammers will make an attempt to sign him permanently given his solid performances this season.
The thought of selling the defender has Arsenal fans a little nervous as to whether it could backfire, here is a look at how supporters reacted via Twitter...
Jenkinson has been great this season, his loan at West Ham has improved him a lot. Pretty gutted we'll probably sell him in the summer. #afc— Ryan (@_RyanAFC) March 30, 2015
Jenkinson really is class. Sell Debuchy, keep Chambers, Bellerin and Jenko. #AFC— Jamie Plummer (@Jampa9) March 30, 2015
