Six Aston Villa players' contracts expiring, Ron Vlaar should go, Darren Bent should stay

Ron Vlaar

The likes of Chris Herd, Ben Siegrist and Antonio Luna are also out of contract.

The season is coming to an end and with the international break clubs have plenty of opportunity at this moment in time to consider who will remain at the club and who will not.

That includes those whose contracts are coming to an end.

Six players at Aston Villa become free agents in the summer, so who should stay and who should go?

Ron Vlaar - GO

Of course it would be great to keep the Dutch international at the club. But so far he has not penned a new deal and despite a great World Cup has struggled for fitness this term.

Meanwhile the likes of Jores Okore and Ciaran Clark have impressed. Move on Ron.

Chris Herd - GO

He has never quite cut it at Villa, despite early promise. He deserves a chance to find his feet elsewhere on a free transfer.

Ben Siegrist - GO

Again, not one who has made it for the club.

Antonio Luna - GO

The Spaniard scored on his debut against Arsenal back in 2013. Since then he has flopped. Spent a torrid six months at Verona this season and is currently at Spezia.

No future for the Lambert signing.

Darren Bent - STAY

A Marmite player. However he has proved at Derby County he still knows where the goal is. Lambert is gone and with a wage cut, keep Bent.

Lewis Kinsella - GO

He joined Luton Town on loan this week and that would be a wise permanent move.
