The England international was in action for Liverpool in the All-Star game today.
Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan had an exceptional 2013-14 season. Brendan Rodgers roped in the youngster last season and he really impressed at the back for the club. He played 25 games last season and earned his first England cap against Ecuador in the summer.
He even scored his first goal for the club, netting against Tottenham Hotspur in a 5-0 win in December 2013.
Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse in the summer. He picked up a knee injury in pre-season and has not played a single game this campaign.
He is however now working on his recovery and will hope to make an appearance for the club before the end of the season.
Today, he did. Well, of sorts. He featured in the Liverpool All-Stars game this afternoon in aid of the Liverpool FC Foundation.
He was on Jamie Carragher's team for the first-half of the fixture, alongside the likes of Mario Balotelli, Didier Drogba and Harry Kewell.
Of course it was a friendly affair, and not exactly the biggest comeback, but it was nice to see him back in action at Anfield - even if he wasn't in Liverpool colours.
Hopefully Flanagan, whose contract expires at the end of the season, can get back in action and back in the first-team at Liverpool as soon as possible.
