The Celtic midfielder barely got a look in against Wales yesterday.
Yesterday saw Wales take on Israel in Haifa, in a top of the table clash in their qualifying group for the European Championships.
Wales ended up victorious, romping to victory in some style - 3-0.
But while were scored by the main attractions in Real Madrid's Gareth Bale and Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey, for Celtic fans the one to look out for was neither.
They would have wanted to see their man Nir Biton shining and coming away injury free.
Unfortunately, neither of those eventualities came to pass.
Israel decided to start the Celtic man on the bench. The midfielder, signed from FC Ashdod two summers ago, has been excellent for Celtic this term but Israel boss Elli Guttman went for different options. He instead opted for Maccabi Tel Aviv pair Sherran Yeini and Eran Zahavi along with Rubin Kazan's Bibras Natcho in a three man midfield.
Biton did eventually come on. He entered the field of play in the 60th minute. But less than 15 minutes later he picked up an injury and limped off. With Israel having made all three of their substitutions, he then limped back on as a virtual passenger for the remainder of the game - as Wales cantered.
It was a frustrating day for Biton, who now faces a race against time to be fit for the upcoming qualifier with Belgium.
Here is how Celtic and Israel fans reacted on Twitter...
