Rangers forward Haris Vuckic was full of praise for his team-mates in an interview with the club's official website after the 4-1 win over Cowdenbeath today - even if he thought goalscorer Darren McGregor looked surprised after scoring the second goal in the game.
Rangers made it two wins in a row with their thumping of Cowdenbeath, but were made to work hard for it after Kudus Oyenuga cancelled out Nicky Clark's opener.
However, McGregor put Rangers back in front with seven minutes to play, and Vuckic then scored two late goals to seal all three points.
The result, coupled with Hibernian's defeat against at Raith Rovers, means Rangers are now level on points in second place, which is key in the playoff race in the Scottish Championship.
After the game, Vuckic spoke to the Rangers official website, and whilst he praised the effort and attitude from his team-mates, he joked that McGregor's goal came as a surprise to the defender himself!
"We have to keep working hard and then Daz scored an incredible goal," said Vuckic. "Once we had that it was easy for us to score even more. Darren looked like he didn't know how to celebrate and he probably didn't expect to score either!"
"The players showed a great attitude today, we stuck together. Even if Billy made a mistake that lead to us conceding, we just kept going and we didn't get frustrated. Once we got the second goal we flew through the rest of the game," he added.
29-year-old defender McGregor, who joined from from St. Mirren last summer, had scored just twice for the club before today's game, so he isn't the most prolific of defenders - and to score a powerful goal from the edge of the box was a shock to most.
