Players from Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Southampton, Manchester United and Liverpool all reacted on social media to England's latest victory.
A number of England internationals wasted little time taking to Twitter following the Three Lions’ 4-0 win against Lithuania on Friday evening.
Roy Hodgson’s side continued their impressive qualifying campaign for Euro 2016 by dispatching their opponents with ease.
Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney scored the opening goal and he was unlucky not to add to that, striking the woodwork on two occasions.
Arsenal player Danny Welbeck doubled England’s advantage on the stroke of half-time before Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane put the game to bed.
The match was particularly memorable for Kane, who took his fine form for Tottenham into the international arena, scoring shortly after coming off the bench for his debut.
After the match, United skipper Rooney was among those to celebrate the result and hail debutant Kane, while the Tottenham youngster said it was the best night of his life.
Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson also had his say, hailing a great win and a great performance while Chelsea’s Gary Cahill and Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne both tweeted their delight.
Best night of my life by far! So proud to have made my debut and to score is just something else! Had dreams of that moment for many years!— Harry Kane (@hkane28) March 27, 2015
