Stoke fans react on Twitter to Mark Hughes' contract extension

Mark Hughes Press Conference Disappointed 12/02/2014

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes committed his future to the club earlier today.

Stoke City supporters are delighted that Mark Hughes has signed a new contract at the club.

The BBC has confirmed that Hughes put pen to paper on a deal which will keep him at the Britannia Stadium until 2018 earlier today and it means that the Potters can start planning for the future.

Stoke have made huge strides under Hughes' stewardship and having him commit for the long-term has been a major boost.

Hughes took on a tough job at Stoke, as he had to take over from Tony Pulis, but he has done admirably and taken the side into a new era.

Stoke had been criticised for being a 'rugby team' under Pulis due to their direct style of play, but Hughes has implemented a much more aesthetically pleasing approach.

Stoke now encourage flair and creativity on the pitch, but they remain well organised, meaning they have become a very tough team to play against.

The task for the Potters is to continue moving forward under Hughes' reign and with his future secured they can already be making plans to strengthen again next season.

Here is the best reaction from Stoke fans to Hughes' contract on social media site Twitter.
