Report suggests Wenger's main concern over Wojciech Szczesny

Arsene Wenger reportedly has concerns over Wojciech Szczesny in a key area.

The London Evening Standard has reported that Arsene Wenger’s main concern in relation to Wojciech Szczesny is whether the Pole is consistent enough to be Arsenal’s long term number one.

The paper suggests that Wenger will sit down with the player at the end of the season, with Szczesny thought to be growing disillusioned with the amount of playing time he’s receiving at the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger may choose to move Szczesny on, with current Chelsea shot stopper Petr Cech mentioned as the main target for Arsenal to go after in the transfer market.

His current contract doesn’t expire until the end of the season in 2018, which suggests that if no resolution is reached in talks between parties at the end of the season, the current Arsenal star could be sold to the highest bidder or forced to accept a position as back up in the current squad.

Szczesny has started 17 games in the Premier League this season with David Ospina providing solid competition across all formats to him following his move from Nice last summer and if he can’t regain his number one status, this may well be his final season in North London.
