Arsenal have been linked with a sensational summer transfer for Marco Reus by The Telegraph.
The German international would be the third big name signing in as many seasons, following Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
Reus has had a mixed season at Borussia Dortmund, who have recovered in recent weeks after sinking to the relegation zone, to move up to 10th in the Bundesliga table.
The report states: "Arsenal remain interested in signing Germany winger Marco Reus after Arsene Wenger widened his scouting focus ahead of this summer's transfer window to include attacking midfield."
Reus' arrival would likely signify the end for Lukas Podolski, but he would be at home in the company of international teammates Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker.
He has seven goals and five assists this season, but there is a big obstacle in their way in that Reus signed a new deal last month committing him to Dortmund until 2019, ESPN reported.
Crucially this contract contains no release clause, with one rumoured to have existed in his previous paperwork.
Reus is a Puma sponsored athlete, also Arsenal's kit manufacturers, but they also happen to be Dortmund's so are unlikely to push a deal either way.
From a football perspective Reus would be an outstanding addition, and give the Guhners a threat from the wing which Chelsea possess in Eden Hazard, and even become a difference maker in helping Arsenal win the title.
