Kevin Smith is reuniting the original Mallrats cast, and it's almost complete.
Fans across the world were stunned when Kevin Smith announced he was making a sequel to his 1995 classic, Mallrats, and their amazement has been growing since with regular announcements that the original cast are slowly being assembled.
Today has seen the announcement that Jeremy London (Mallrats, Party of Five), who played the lead role of T.S Quint, and Ethan Suplee (Mallrats, American History X, My Name is Earl), who played the lumbering William have both joined the cast.
They join six other original members, Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma) as Silent Bob, Jason Mewes (Clerks, Dogma, Zak & Miri Make a Porno) as Jay, Stan Lee as himself, Shannen Doherty (Mallrats, Charmed, Heathers) as Rene , Jason Lee (Mallrats, My Name is Earl, Almost Famous) as Brodie and Michael Rooker (Mallrats, The Walking Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy) as Svenning.
Kevin Smith commented on his Facebook page that that is "8 down, 4 to go! Collect 'em all!" but who will the other four be? The obvious choices would be Ben Affleck who played Shannon, Claire Forlani who played Brandi, Joey Lauren Adams who played Gwen and Renee Humphrey who played Tricia but that leaves a number of Kevin Smith's regular actors out of the fold.
We can't wait for a Mallrats follow up, in fact any Kevin Smith movie is good in our eyes (Yes even Jersey Girl). Let's hope for a serious look into the psyche of America's teenagers, Snoogans. All we want is some classic Jay & Silent Bob action.
