Liverpool's new ex-Tottenham whizkid secures loan switch along with exciting forward

Giant Anfield Flag

Two Liverpool youngsters have made loan moves to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's Burton Albion.

Earlier this week we asked what the next move could be for Kevin Stewart, a young player released by Tottenham last summer and immediately snapped up by Liverpool's academy on a one-year deal.

The long-term answer to that question remains open, but a short-term response was provided in time for the Football League loan deadline yesterday.

Stewart clinched a deal to sign with Burton Albion until the end of the season, along with exciting Liverpool prospect Jack Dunn.

Both players were on loan at Cheltenham Town earlier in the season, Stewart scoring once in his four appearances, and Dunn netting three in five games.

The duo join up with former Premier League hotshot Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who has led Burton to the top of League Two, five points clear.

Stewart, 21, has played 12 times for Liverpool's under-21 side this season, scoring once, and this is a real chance for him to impress.

He can either convince Liverpool to hand him a new deal, or hope to do enough to ensure if he is not offered one, that he won't be short of options heading into the summer.

Dunn, 20, is also in a situation where his contract is set to expire at the end of this current season, and this loan move is potentially a pivotal period in the future of both players.
