A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Liverpool Football Club this Friday morning.
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has suffered another injury setback this season after he withdrew from the England squad with hip injury, and the Liverpool Echo has said the forward has a 'slight tear' in his hip muscle.
He picked up the injury in the defeat to Manchester United, and it's the latest in a series of setbacks this season for the forward, who missed five months of the season because of problems with his calf and thigh muscles.
The Echo hasn't put a timescale on the injury but the Daily Mirror has suggested that Sturridge could miss up to a month, meaning he will miss the key trip to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal, and the FA Cup quarter-final replay against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park - and would face a race against time to be fit for the semi-final should the Reds progress.
Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has been talking about his time at the club, and said he was disappointed as to how he approached his first season on Merseyside when he joined the club for £15 million in the summer of 2012.
He also said a dip in form had affected his confidence after some positive early signs ever since joining Liverpool, but Allen seems to indicate he is starting to come of age.
"I am getting towards my peak and I hope to keep improving in the next few years and getting better."
