Five Stoke City players' contracts expiring, Jonathan Walters should stay, Andy Wilkinson should go

The likes of Thomas Sorensen and Peter Odemwingie are also out of contract this summer.

The season is coming to an end and with the international break clubs have plenty of opportunity at this moment in time to consider who will remain at the club and who will not.

That includes those whose contracts are coming to an end.

Five players at Stoke City become free agents in the summer, so who should stay and who should go?

Jonathan Walters - STAY

He may not be the most expansive or fancy player you will ever feast your eyes upon. However the Irishman is a reliable and occasionally crucial cog in the system.

Stoke have to keep him.

Peter Odemwingie - GO

The Nigerian suffered a serious knee injury in the summer and has therefore played just three times for Stoke this season.

Not worth keeping on.

Wilson Palacios - GO

Wilson who? A forgotten man around these parts the Honduran has not played for Stoke this season and he won't play for them next either.

Thomas Sorensen - GO

Time to let the veteran go? It depends how they feel about Dale Eve and Daniel Bachmann. But with Jack Butland and Asmir Begovic at the club, perhaps Sorensen's time has passed.

Andy Wilkinson - GO

Wilko has been with the club since 1998, the age of 14, but he has not played in the Premier League since April 2014.

He would be a great free signing for any Football League club, but his long association with Stoke looks to be coming to an end.
