Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: Mason explains what Pochettino has always told him

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason has explained to the Daily Mail what Mauricio Pochettino told him from his first day at the club.

The Argentine has had a decent first season at White Hart Lane and will be looking for big performances from Mason over the rest of the season.

He could get some game time for England against Lithuania and Italy and it will be interesting to see how he gets on.

“Now I've got a manager who trusts in me and believes in me, and he came in from day one and said that,” he said.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele caught up with Sky Sports yesterday to talk about the club’s players away with England during the international break.

Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Harry Kane and Ryan Mason were all called up with Rose having just dropped out of the side due to injury.

Dembele explained to Sky what he feels they all have in common as they look to hit the ground running.

“I work and train with them all every day – they all have a great mentality, which should help them do well,” said the Belgian.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Roy Hodgson would have started Danny Rose in the match against Lithuania this week.

The England defender has just pulled out of the squad due to hip and hamstring problems, which have been troubling him in training.

The paper claims England wanted him to start so he couldn’t then represent Jamaica at a later point in his career.
