Teenage Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom reacts on Twitter after international strike

Nottingham Forest linked Arsenal star Chuba Akpom was on target for England's under-20 team.

In demand Arsenal prospect Chuba Akpom played a key role in helping England's under-20 side beat Mexico.

Akpom, 19, won and scored an equalising penalty, to help a talented young Three Lions team record a 1-1 draw.

England then won a penalty shootout which took place after 90 minutes, with Aston Villa's Calum Robinson scoring the winning spot kick

Akpom used twitter to explain how the game taking place at Barnet's The Hive stadium made the game extra notable for him.

The Arsenal youngster now has four goals in seven games for England's under-20 team, having previously netted six in 13 for the under-19s.

This season he has netted nine in 11 games for Arsenal's under-21s, but has not quite managed to convince Arsene Wenger he is ready for a sustained run in the first team.

Thursday is set to be a big day for Akpom, as it is the Football League loan deadline. He is set to find out one way or another if he will spend the rest of the season on loan, with Championship side Nottingham Forest linked strongly, reported by ESPN.
