Seven Everton players' contracts expiring, Luke Garbutt should stay, Antolin Alcaraz should go

The likes of Luke Garbutt, John Lundstram, Antolin Alcaraz and Sylvain Distin are all free agents in the summer.

The season is coming to an end and with the international break clubs have plenty of opportunity at this moment in time to consider who will remain at the club and who will not.

That includes those whose contracts are coming to an end.

Seven players at Everton become free agents in the summer, so who should stay and who should go?

Luke Garbutt - STAY

Undoubtedly this is a deal that must get tied down. He looks a great talent and potentially a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines.

However, will the former Leeds talent want to remain second, or even third choice?

Sylvain Distin - GO

The Frenchman has been a fantastic servant to the club but this season his age has finally caught up with him. His pace, his previously best weapon, is gone and with it surely his Everton future.

Antolin Alcaraz - GO

No Everton fan will be sad to see the Paraguayan leave the club in the summer.

John Lundstram - STAY

Give him another year. He is a highly talented player even if he has not quite stepped up to the plate. He could be Everton's Ryan Mason?

Matthew Pennington - GO

Currently on loan at Coventry City, he does not look up to the criteria necessary to make it at Goodison Park.

Conor Grant - GO

On loan at Motherwell he again is not Premier League standard.

Chris Long - GO

The striker has plenty of names ahead of him in the pecking order. He is doing OK at Brentford at the moment and deserves a move away.
