Sunderland stand a good chance of survival based on their current form in 2015.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that if Sunderland maintain the form they have shown throughout 2015, they will just avoid relegation.
The paper’s assessment of the final league table is based on a number of different things such as the number of goals scored, conceded and the results of all league matches so far this year.
Dick Advocaat’s side are under massive pressure, but the paper suggests if they can keep going as they are, they will finish 17th and will avoid the drop down into the Championship.
Advocaat won’t be happy with the way his team played in the 1-0 defeat against West Ham before the international break, but the side have to raise their performance levels for their next fixture.
It comes against Newcastle United who would more than likely enjoy piling on the misery and confining the side to a position in the bottom three.
Sunderland need to find a way of getting a positive result, putting some decent performances together and building momentum, which will allow them to get out of trouble and push themselves further away from danger.
