Nottingham Forest sign Chuba Akpom on loan from Arsenal

Chuba Akpom has joined Nottingham Forest on loan from Arsenal for the rest of the season.

Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi has taken to social networking site Twitter to reveal that the club have signed Chuba Akpom from Arsenal.

The 19-year-old has joined the Championship outfit from Premier League giants Arsenal on loan for the rest of the season.

Soon after Al-Hasawi’s tweet, Forest themselves announced the deal on their official website.

Akpom is a highly-rated young striker who has made seven appearances in all competitions for Arsenal so far this season.

The teenager has featured three times in the Premier League for the Gunners this campaign, and has given a good account of himself.

The youngster, who is currently part of the England Under-20 set-up, has played in the Championship before, with Brentford and Coventry City last season.

Forest have been struggling with injuries in their attack in recent weeks, and the arrival of Akpom is certainly going to boost them in that department

Dougie Freedman’s side are currently ninth in the Championship table with 57 points from 39 matches, 10 points behind sixth-placed Ipswich Town.
