Nine West Ham players' contracts expiring, Jussi Jaaskelainen should stay, Carlton Cole should go

Jussi Jaaskelainen places the ball

The likes of Nene, Dan Potts, Guy Demel and Seb Lletget are all out of contract in the summer.

The season is coming to an end and with the international break clubs have plenty of opportunity at this moment in time to consider who will remain at the club and who will not.

That includes those whose contracts are coming to an end.

Nine players at West Ham United become free agents in the summer, so who should stay and who should go?

Nene - GO

Let's face it, he was brought in as a stop gap. He is perhaps not one for the future and expect the Brazilian to leave the club in the summer.

Carlton Cole - GO

A tricky one. West Ham have tried and failed to get rid of Cole on a couple of occasions. This time they should succeed. They need to start looking forward and Cole could play regular first-team football elsewhere.

Danny Potts - GO

A talented left-back, no doubt, but an injury prone one. West Ham should let him go this summer as he has no future with the Hammers.

Jussi Jaaskelainen - STAY

An experienced goalkeeper is always welcome. Sure he is getting on and won't feature often but he can pass on plenty of knowledge to his younger custodians.

Seb Lletget - GO

The midfielder does not look like he will cut it at West Ham. Cut him loose and see if he can make a career for himself elsewhere.

Guy Demel - GO

No longer a first-team regular, the Ivorian is likely to leave in the summer. He will have plenty of interest in his services and it will not hurt West Ham to let him go.

Sean Maguire - GO

Not good enough to cut it at the club.

Paul McCallum - GO

Currently making headlines for the wrong reasons at Portsmouth. He has no future at West Ham.

Raphael Spiegel - STAY

The giant stopper is still young and learning his trade. He deserves another year, but as third-choice stopper for the club.
