Tottenham Hotspur legend Micky Hazard explained to talkSPORT how he feels Harry Kane is going to have to reinvent himself next season.
Kane is enjoying the best season of his career so far, but Hazard has suggested he will be challenged next season because he’ll no longer be a surprise package.
“The big test for Harry is going to come next season when sides have learned all about him and he doesn't surprise them,” said Hazard.
“He's got to develop a trick. He's got to disguise his intentions and develop one or two tricks - Different movements in behind defenders, drop off to come to feet, play in between them rather than up against them - drag them closer together and leave space for someone else.”
The reason it’s so important for Kane to develop his game is because he doesn’t have the yard of pace that some forwards rely on in all situations.
He’s not the sort of striker who can rely on his pace to exploit a defence and he has to try and be a more intelligent player as a result.
There’s no reason he can’t adapt his game with the right coaching and guidance from Mauricio Pochettino and if he can find ways to stay effective, Spurs have a very good long term striker on their books.
Next up for Tottenham is a trip to Burnley when the Premier League action returns, which will represent a chance for Kane to try and get over the 30 goal mark at club level for the season.
