Manchester City media round-up: Ancelotti emerges as managerial target, with one problem

A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester City.

The Daily Express is reporting that Carlo Ancelotti is now Manchester City’s main target to replace Manuel Pellegrini.

City were thought to be keen on a deal for Diego Simeone, but he’s just signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid.

There is speculation building that Pellegrini could lose his job this summer if he doesn’t retain the title with the club.

However, the Daily Mirror has reported that City may not get their man due to his current assistant Paul Clement.

Clement has been a regular alongside Ancelotti for the last six years and the paper suggests he’s ready to go it alone and have a crack at management himself.

Joe Hart has been quoted by the Manchester Evening News suggesting that Sergio Aguero is the best finisher in football.

Hart was put under extreme pressure during the Champions League game against Barcelona, making several saves from Lionel Messi.

However, Hart feels Aguero eclipses everyone when it comes to his ability to slot the ball home.

“Just from working with him on a daily basis and from what I’ve seen this season, (it’s) probably Aguero,” said Hart.
