Swansea City have reportedly identified three strikers that they will be looking to sign in the summer.
As per a report in the South Wales Evening Post, the Swans have highlighted three players that they will be looking to sign in the summer – with the trio also said to be targets for other Premier League clubs.
Aleksandar Mitrovic, Luc Castaignos and Leo Baptistao are all reportedly on head coach Garry Monk’s wish list for the upcoming transfer window, and, with all three being strikers, it implies that securing a replacement for the departed Wilfried Bony is the Welsh club's top priority.
However, the Swans will face intense Premier League competition for all three targets, with Mitrovic and Castaignos linked with a transfer to Newcastle United, and Baptistao reportedly being eyed up by Aston Villa.
The Chronicle has long linked FC Twente forward Castaignos with a switch to St James’ Park, while the same outlet reported today that the Magpies have made Anderlecht forward Mitrovic - who has an impressive 20 goals in 38 games this term - their main target this summer, with a £15 million bid planned.
It was TMW who reported on Villa’s interest in Atletico Madrid forward Leo Baptistao earlier this month, and the striker is now also being tracked by Swansea, with the 22-year-old out-of-contract at the end of the season.
With Swansea's future fortunes looking much more promising than Villa's or Newcastle's, it is hard to see why any potential transfer target would look elsewhere than the Liberty Stadium.
