Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: Redknapp explains problem he always saw in Kane

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has explained, as reported by the Daily Mirror, that Harry Kane ruined an Arsenal transfer back when he was in charge.

Kane scored four goals in a training match where Arsenal had scouts watching defender Scott Dann when he played for Birmingham City.

Redknapp has also suggested the only problem he saw in Kane from a young age, when he first encountered him.

The former manager suggests that the player lacks a bit of pace, but he’s made up for that with the intelligence of his attacking play and his movement.

“Harry is a great lad. The only question mark was whether he lacked a yard of pace,” said Redknapp.

The Independent has quoted England manager Roy Hodgson suggesting that fans can’t build up Harry Kane as the country’s saviour.

The in-form striker is set to start this week against Lithuania after bagging 29 goals across all competitions for Tottenham this season.

Daniel Sturridge’s recent injury has paved the way for Kane to establish himself at the top of Tottenham’s attack.

“I do really hope people won’t (build him up), and when I say people I don’t mean the mass media because that’s their job, I am talking about people in general,” said Hodgson.
