According to talkSPORT, Southampton are hoping to make a summer move to sign Braga striker Eder.
The powerful frontman is said to be available for just £1 million and the Saints believe that he could enhance the quality of their forward line.
Eder has scored six goals for Braga this season and Southampton are keen to prise him away for a cut-price fee.
The 27-year-old's contract with the Portuguese club expires next year and he is said to be unlikely to extend his current deal.
What would the impact be for Southampton?
Southampton could do with having another striker in their squad as they are limited in their goalscoring options at present.
Although Graziano Pelle has proved his ability to hit the back of the net, his form has deteriorated considerably as the season has progressed and Southampton have found goals hard to come by since.
Although both Shane Long and Sadio Mane can play as strikers, they do not have predatory instincts and Koeman is likely to see adding another frontman as one of his top priorities this summer.
Whether Eder has the quality to star for Saints remains to be seen, but there is limited risk in the deal if they can secure it at such a cheap price, and he could be a good impact substitute.
