Can has been talking about the amount of young players that are helping the side progress.

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has said he feels the club is at the 'start of a new era' this season, given the amount of young players there are at the club.

The 21-year-old German is one of several younger players at the club who has brought in last summer and believes the side will continue to progress as players continue to improve.

He told the Liverpool website: "I definitely feel we're at the start of a new era. It's a very, very young team with Phillippe Coutinho, Jordan Henderson and Lazar Markovic.

"But I think the team needs to keep improving, and continue doing what we're doing at the moment to get to these years. But I believe there are good years ahead."

There is no secret that Liverpool's squad is a youthful one. Raheem Sterling has emerged as one of the squad's most important players at the age of 20, while the emergence of Jordon Ibe shows that Brendan Rodgers likes to bring in younger players for first team action - even in the bigger games.

One would think that if Liverpool keep hold of the nucleus of their side going forward - which is full of players that are still way off their best years - then they could be one of the big players in the Premier League in the coming years, should they manage things wisely.

There is a certainly a lot of promise within the Liverpool side, now it's a case of much they will progress.
