Forget Jurgen Klopp, West Ham United should go for his understudy Thomas Tuchel as Sam Allardyce replacement

With the future of Sam Allardyce up in the air what does the future hold for the West Ham hotseat.

Last week the Daily Mail ran with an article stating that West Ham United should make a move for Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.

The charismatic German has had his troubles at Dortmund this term and with West Ham moving into an incredible new home at the Olympic Stadium site, ambition should be high.

However, Klopp loves Dortmund. He gets the metro to games, he could have left already and when he does it will be for any team he desires. All due respect to West Ham, Klopp is unlikely to consider them as a serious next opportunity.

Instead, West Ham should look at a man considered the ‘next Klopp’.

Thomas Tuchel worked under Klopp at unfashionable German side Mainz.

At the club he caught the eye with his expansive and daring style of play and the results it produced. Mainz finished 9th, 5th, 13th, 13th and 7th in the Bundesliga under Tuchel and he is still revered by the fans as a hero.

He took a year out of the game this season, Pep Guardiola style, to improve his managing style ahead of a comeback for 2015-16.

There is no doubt that West Ham should try to bring him in.

Tuchel is an innovative and thought-provoking manager who worked magic at Mainz, following in the footsteps of the enigmatic Klopp.

With Tuchel at the helm West Ham would play the football their fans want to see in a brand new stadium and the future would certainly look bright for the Hammers.

Forget Klopp, he is unattainable. Tuchel is the man to take West Ham forward.
