Chelsea media round-up: Fee set for Cech to leave Stamford Bridge

A round up of news stories this morning related to Chelsea.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has been quoted by GDN suggesting that he could leave the club this summer.

Cech has been back up to Thibaut Courtois throughout this season and feels as though he’s got plenty to offer in terms of being a number one.

He could be allowed to move on in the summer if Jose Mourinho can draft in a solid back up player.

“I have to do something about my situation because I want to play, not sit on the bench,” he said.

The Daily Mirror reports that any side interested in doing a deal for Cech at the end of the season will have to pay big for the privilege.

The paper’s report suggests that a £10 million fee will be needed to tempt the Blues into doing some business.

Arsenal and Liverpool are mentioned as possible Premier League destinations.

Jose Mourinho has been quoted by ESPN suggesting Chelsea are in pole position to win the Premier League title.

The Blues are sitting pretty at the top of the table after grinding out a 3-2 win against Hull in their last game.

Mourinho is confident his team can defend their lead over the rest of the campaign.

“Now we are in the best position since the beginning of the season,” said the boss.
