The Beast Incarnate ends speculation on his future as well as his MMA career.
The future of current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has been the subject of much speculation recently, with the man himself threatening to move to UFC and take the championship with him.
Lesnar has essentially been a part timer since he re-joined WWE back in 2013, rarely taking part in TV shows and even missing several Pay Per Views. Many fans rightly feel cheated that they have a WWE World Heavyweight Champion that isn't seen week in but it suits his character well, an unstoppable mercenary that everyone fears.
Speculation has been that Lesnar would leave the company after Wrestlemania but all the talk was ended today after he signed a new contract, keeping him at the company for a further three years. Perhaps more surprising is the fact that he has reportedly turned down an opportunity to return to UFC in a deal that was apparently worth ten times his previous one with the brand.
In a statement Lesnar said “The fighter in me wants to continue, but at this stage in my life, it ain’t just about me anymore, You put your pride to the side. You hug your wife and your kids. I’m a 37-year-old man, and some days I feel like I’m 80, just with all the things I’ve experienced, all the things I’ve done. I feel fortunate about it. It’s like, what else can I do? Why go backward?”
It seems as though Lesnar see's a bright future at WWE which will keep fans guessing at the direction his character will take.
Brock Lesnar will defend his title against Roman Reigns at this Sunday's Wrestlemania. It now looks as though he may just keep the title if he's staying at the company and we can't wait to find out what will happen next.
