Discussing three young Celtic players who deserve more chances before the campaign is finished.
Celtic manager Ronny Deila has already shown he is not afraid to give young players a chance, with loanee Jason Denayer the clearest example of that.
But with the Scottish Premiership title drawing ever closer, there could be a chance for Celtic to hand more chances to some of their young Hoops.
For now they must focus on reaching the Scottish Cup final and hopefully wrapping up another league title, but five points clear of second-placed Aberdeen and with a game in hand, there could be potential dead-rubbers in the final few weeks of the season.
Deila will want his side to win as many games as possible for the remainder of the campaign, but here we take a look at three young players who could get more chances to impress before the season draws to a close:
Liam Henderson is an 18-year-old midfielder who is highly-rated at Celtic Park and should go on to have a great career in the game.
He has already featured 14 times for Celtic this season so including him on this list may seem rather strange. But the simple fact is most of those chances have come from the bench.
If the possibility comes for the teenager to start two or three matches in a row, then Celtic supporters may get more of a glimpse of the player he looks destined to become.
Right-back Darnell Fisher has made 18 appearances for the Bhoys but only five of those have come in the current campaign, with the 20-year-old playing for just 90 minutes in total.
He has been an unused substitute a few times but he could get the chance to start before the summer, with the opportunity to impress Deila a huge motivating factor.
Irish centre-back Eoghan O’Connell recently signed a new contract at Celtic until 2017. After making his first-team debut last season, the 19-year-old has featured five times in the current campaign.
While Denayer and Virgil van Dijk are Celtic’s first-choice defensive pairing, O’Connell could be given a chance or two to impress, knowing the young Manchester City loanee’s future remains in some doubt.
