Report: Celtic interested in signing Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain this summer

Celtic have been linked with another potential new recruit in the close-season.

According to a report in The Scotsman, Celtic are interested in signing Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain.

The 23-year-old stopper is reportedly seen as a potential replacement for Lukasz Zaluska, who looks set to leave the Bhoys at the end of the season.

According to the latest story, Bain is rated at around £400,000 by his current club and is seen as a serious contender to join Ronny Deila’s side despite the fact Celtic have a list of potential targets in both England and further afield.

Bain has made 19 appearances for Dundee since arriving from Alloa Athletic, where he featured 117 times and kept 40 clean sheets.

This season he has had shut-outs in five of his 19 matches, conceding 20 goals in total.

Craig Gordon remains Celtic’s undisputed number one, having made 42 appearances for the club this season. And with a contract until 2017 he is unlikely to be going anywhere for a while yet.

But Deila will need quality back-up and Bain has seemingly made the short-list to fill that role.
